Is stomach acid required to digest vegetables and fruits?

Post by kevinmanuel » Tue Apr 17, 2018 6:34 am

So from my understanding stomach acid is essential to break down protein however does anybody if vegetables require stomach acid aswell, even If to a lesser extent? They are still solid foods and after chewing something like kale it is not liquid so how does it get broken down?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
