Creeping Phlox

Post by robsandford » Mon May 02, 2011 2:14 pm

I have seen creeping phlox plants for sale in several catalogues, but have not seen creeping phlox seeds for sale. Is this plant difficult to start from seed? If not too difficult, where can seed be purchased? I live in Richmond and have two small banks which would be a perfect place for this plant. Thanks for your help.

This is a hard plant to start from seed and you will probably have a hard time finding the seed. I have searched several seed catalogs and haven't found any Phlox subulata seed for sale. You would probably be better off purchasing small plants and planting those on the bank. It may take a while to fill in because they are relatively slow growers.
