Growing Phlox w/ Tulips

Post by Katrinka9979 » Thu May 02, 2013 10:10 am

We have recently planted massive amounts of tulips and hyacinths as well as purchased some creeping phlox. I am worried about planting the phlox around the bulbs in fear that the phlox will suffocate the bulbs. Is this something that does/can happen? Thank you

Creeping phlox (Phlox subulata) are great when planted in combination with spring bulbs. Tulips and daffodils will pop up easily through the phlox foliage.

Andre has some beautiful tulips growing up through his Phlox subulata 'Fort Hill'
