I have a lot of Stella Doro daylilies. However, after they bloom for the first time they quickly produce seed pods. I remove these pods thinking that they will transfer that energy to re-blooming. However they never re-bloom. HELP! Do I need to re-fertilize to stimulate new blooms? Thanks. TH

Do you just remove the seed pods or do you remove the whole flower scape? You have the right idea but it is best to remove the whole flower scape to promote reblooming. Here is a tip from our website about keeping your everbloomers blooming: http://www.viette.com/v.php?pg=583. Fertilize them in the spring and again in the fall with Plant-tone. To encourage flowering, you could feed them with rock phosphate in the spring according to the label directions.
