diatomaceous earth

I want to put this around the outside of my house to discourage termites, ants, and spiders. I don't want to harm earthworms in the flowers and lawn. Does this stuff harm worms?

Food grade diatomaceous earth is not harmful to earthworms but be sure to purchase FOOD GRADE. The diatomaceous earth sold for swimming pool filters is not effective as an insecticide. Be sure to read and follow the label directions and wear a dust mask when applying this in a dry form.
