I want to dedicate a corner of my garden to an asparagas patch. How do I establish this patch so it comes back every year?

Careful planning and bed preparation are key to the success of an asparagus bed. Keep in mind that since it is a perennial plant, you will no longer be able to till this section of the garden. Here is a good web page from Virginia Cooperative Extension that has good information on establishing and maintaining an asparagus bed: http://pubs.ext.vt.edu/426/426-401/426-401.html. Good luck! For what it's worth, my favorite asparagus that I grow is 'Purple Passion'. It has an amazing flavor! 'Jersey Giant' is delicious, too.
